14 avenues Gambetta, 92310 Sèvres, BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT, France
Seeking peace and quiet away from Paris, Gambetta became the owner, some forty years after Balzac, of the small house known as Les Jardies, in Sèvres.
The statesman made hardly any changes to this very simple, trellis-covered house, where he died in 1882.
Since dedicated to the memory of Gambetta, Les Jardies still has its original decor and contains a collection of memorabilia.
